Illinois Man ID'd Following York County Milk Truck Crash: Coroner

A cargo truck driver has been identified following a deadly crash involving a milk truck in York County on Saturday, Nov. 5, authorities say.

Patrick Moynihan, 61, of Summit, IL, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 2882 Delta Road in Chanceford Township, Airville around 4 a.m., according to a release by the York County coroner's office. 

He had driving south on Delta Rd. when a milk truck entered the road from an adjacent highway but Moynihan did not seem to notice the milk truck and directly hit it "without slowing down or braking" around 2:30 a.m., Coroner Pamela Gay states in the release. 

The cause of death was accidental blunt force trauma due to the collision, the coroner's report details. 

The status of the milk truck driver or any possible passengers that were involved was not released.

An autopsy will not be conducted but a routine toxicology report will be performed. 

Pennsylvania state police continue to investigate this deadly crash.
